On our return from Prague to Germany we made a short stop in Regensburg, the oldest city in Bavaria. We visited the Regenburger Dom (the cathedral, built ca. 700AD) and checked out the Cathedral Treasure Museum to see a 950 year old bishop's robe and some relics from the 7th century. One of these was a small gold and glass ornament, with a single thorn inside, reputed to be one from Jesus' crown of thorns (Geordie was a bit dubious on this one!). After Regensburg, we travelled to Munich with Andreas and Illona for some more culture, sightseeing and beer. In Munich we visited the Residence, the palace where the kings of Bavaria originally lived, and spent a few hours checking out the squares and monuments of the city.
